Inuktitut Translator

We are seeking skilled Inuktitut translators to join our team on an as-needed and project-based basis to handle transcription tasks.

The ideal candidate will have a strong command of both Inuktitut and English and experience with transcription.

Responsibilities:
- Translate written materials accurately and promptly.
- Transcribe audio and video recordings in Inuktitut and translate transcriptions into English as necessary.

Qualifications:
- Fluency in Inuktitut and English.
- Proven experience in translation and transcription.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.

Research and Policy Advisor

Paqqijamik Naalangniq - Nunavut SPOR SUPPORT Unit is hiring a Research and Policy Advisor to lead research, policy, and program initiatives across Nunavut. The role involves collaborating with community partners to develop and implement health program research and policy evaluation. This unit is a partnership between NTI, GN, Qaujigiartiit Health Research Centre, and the Nunavut Research Institute.

Key Qualifications:

  • Lived in Nunavut for a minimum of 3 years
  • Priority for Nunavut Land Claim beneficiaries and long-term Nunavummiut
  • Postsecondary degree in health research or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience with Inuit and community-based research methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of policy development and research methods
  • Inuktut language skills are an asset

Data Advisor

Paqqijamik Naalangniq - Nunavut SPOR SUPPORT Unit is seeking a Data Advisor to join our dynamic team. This role involves developing and implementing a data management strategy that aligns with Inuit ethical principles for patient-oriented research across Nunavut. The unit is a collaborative effort between NTI, GN, Qaujigiartiit Health Research Centre, and the Nunavut Research Institute.

Key Qualifications:

  • Lived in Nunavut for a minimum of 3 years
  • Priority for Nunavut Land Claim beneficiaries and long-term Nunavummiut
  • Post-secondary degree in health, data science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong experience in data management, analytics, and Indigenous data sovereignty
  • Familiarity with epidemiological methods and statistical analysis of large datasets
  • Inuktut language skills are an asset

The Qaujigiartiit Health Research Centre is seeking dedicated individuals to join its Ethics Katimajiit!

This is a community-based research ethics review board tasked with reviewing research projects at our centre. Your life experience in Nunavut is what we value most—no prior experience in research ethics is necessary and all training is provided. The only requirement is that members must be tied to and care about our communities.
